Rafeal Nadal is a Spanish
professional tennis player. He is widely regarded as the greatest clay court
player, he has been titled “The King of Clay”. Tennis experts considering Nadal
to be the greatest player all of time.
Nadal has won 28 titles in ATP world
tour Masters 1000 series and 17 ATP world tour 500 tournaments. Also won 14
Grand slam singles titles , the 2008 Olympic gold medal in singles. He also
member of winning Spain davis cup team in 2004, 2008,2009 and 2011. In 2010, he
become the 7th player and youngest of four in the Open Era to achieve
the Career grand slam at age 24. And complete the singles Career Golden Slam .
In 2010 Nadal receive award Laureus World Sports Man of the Year.
Achievements of Nadal
Nadal won French open singles titles
2010 to 2014 to become the only player to win five consecutive singles titles.
Earlier he had captured French open singles from 2005 to 2008 and joining with
Bjorn Borg as the only other man to have won four consecutive singles title
there. In 2014, by winning 9th french open title, Nadal become only
male player to win nine major title at a grand slam events.
He is also the first, and only male
player to date, to win three consecutive Grand slam tournaments on three
different surfaces in the same year 2010.
Nadal has won 28 Atp Masters titles
second only to Djokovic 30 and has a record tying 42 finals and a stand alone
59 semifinals.
Nadal especially successful on clay courts. He has a 48-8
record in clay court tournament finals and lost only twice in best of five set
matches on clay. He has won 4 consecutive French open 2005 to 2008 and 5
consecutive 2014 to 2014, nine monte-carlo
and seven Rome Masters, and won at least one of the three clay court master
series tournaments every year between 2005
and 2014. Nadal become the first ATP player in the Open Era to win 3 different
tournaments 9 times each. He also owns the longest single surface wining streak
in the Open Era, having won 81 consecutive matches on clay from April 2005 to
May 2007. Top players regards him as the greatest clay court player of all
time.
